Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) practices, across four dimensions (economic, legal, ethical, and philanthropic), on enhancing Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB), across five dimensions (altruism, courtesy, conscientiousness, sportsmanship, and civic virtue), among employees of the Social Security Services Office in Al-Abyar, Libya. The study adopted a descriptive-analytical approach using a questionnaire as the primary instrument. A comprehensive census survey was conducted for the target population of 60 employees, yielding 58 valid questionnaires for analysis. Results showed a moderate overall level of CSR practice (M = 3.299), led by the legal dimension (M = 3.576), while the philanthropic dimension ranked lowest (M = 3.024), not differing significantly from the scale's neutral midpoint (p = 0.802). Similarly, OCB was moderate overall (M = 3.275), led by sportsmanship (M = 3.422), with civic virtue ranking lowest (M = 2.978). Correlation analysis revealed a positive, significant relationship between the two variables (r = 0.586, p < 0.001). CSR accounted for 34.4% of the variance in OCB, rising to 38.8% when all four dimensions were entered jointly (F = 8.393, p < 0.001). The study recommended strengthening CSR practices, particularly the lowest-rated dimensions, supporting OCB through training and motivational programs, and conducting future research linking both variables to other organizational factors
