parenting Styles and Their Relationship to Psychological Adjustment Among a Sample of High School Students in Al- Qarah Bulli (A Field Study)

The current Study aimed to examine the relationship between Parenting Styles and Psychological adjustment among a sample of high school Students in the city of Al –Qara Bulli. The sample consisted of111participants, including58 male students and 53 female students. Adesciptive approach was used to conduct the study, and the Al- Sharifin Scale (2008) was used to measure parenting styles. The Psychological adjustment Scale developed by Zainab Shakir (2003), was also. Several statistical methods were employed to achieve the study objectives, including: the one –sample T,test, the Mann- whitney U test, person correiation Cronbach alpha, percentages, frequencies, and certain measurres of central tendency and dispersion The present study concluded that There is positive correlation at the (0.001) level between the father s and mother sparenting styles and psychological adjustment. Differences between the scales as a whole and psychological adjustment and their hypothesized means at the (0.000) level, and these differences favored the calculated means, and that there were no statistically significant differences at the (0.05) level between the participants scores on the research scales according to their educational and family background variables. Finally, l made several recommendations and suggestions in light of the research findings.
