Abstract

The reason behind vitamin D deficiency in children is the lack of significant sun exposure to the skin, or the lack of significant sun exposure, as a person is supposed to be exposed to the main sun 3 to 5 times a week, 3 times a week, in order for the body to be able to produce vitamin D. Research Problem:

Vitamin D deficiency affects a large percentage of infants and children, and is the main cause of rickets, a condition that leads to bone fragility and deformity. Vitamin D deficiency may also lead to an increased rate of fractures. Children are considered deficient in vitamin D if their blood levels fall below 20 nanograms per milliliter. In mild cases, vitamin D deficiency may not cause any symptoms, but if symptoms do appear, the child may complain of bone pain. This research aims to identify the causes of vitamin D deficiency in children and to understand vitamin D-related diseases in children. Research questions: Does vitamin D deficiency exist in children? Are there diseases that cause vitamin D deficiency in children? The study sample consists of doctors who follow up on cases within the outpatient clinics of Al-Marj Teaching Hospital, and their number is (5).
