Abstract

This research comprises an applied, morphological, lexical, and contextual analytical study of the intensive forms in Surah At-Tawbah within the context of the Qur'anic text. The study aims to analyze these forms within their Qur'anic context and uncover their semantic implications and their impact on directing meaning. The research addresses the morphological significance of intensive forms in Surah At-Tawbah, identifying their famous weights, such as (Fa‘īl, Fa‘ūl, Fa‘‘āl, Mif‘āl, and Fa‘il), and clarifying the linguistic and lexical meanings of these forms. This is achieved through analyzing the structures, monitoring their meanings, identifying their weights, and explaining their contextual significance. Furthermore, the study illustrates contextual meanings through linguistic lexicons and Qur'anic interpretations, while highlighting the primary differences between these forms in terms of semantic strength and usage. The research then moves to survey the verses in Surah At-Tawbah that contain these forms, analyzing them within their general context and extrapolating their indications of multiplicity, hyperbole, repetition, intensity, and clarity. The results demonstrate that the intensive forms in Surah At-Tawbah carry multiple connotations depending on their Qur'anic context. These forms contribute to strengthening and emphasizing the meaning, creating a profound impact on the listener. The research reaches several conclusions, most notably that intensive forms denote abundance, repetition, and hyperbole, and that context, rather than morphological weight alone, is the primary determinant of the actual semantic value. The study concludes that the employment of intensive forms in the Surah integrates morphological structure with semantic context to serve the general meaning of the Qur'anic text, fostering a deeper understanding of the Qur'anic discourse and its expressive dimensions. This research is concerned with studying intensive forms in Surah At-Tawbah as a morpho-semantic phenomenon with a significant impact on shaping Qur'anic meaning and highlighting its various dimensions. The study relies on the descriptive-analytical approach, the applied-contrastive approach, and the inductive approach. The verses are cited according to the narration of Hafs from ‘Asim, following the rules of Arabic orthography.
