This study explores the active role of electronic media in promoting national reconciliation in Libya, focusing on social media platforms such as Facebook and WhatsApp. The aim of the study is to understand how these platforms are used to raise awareness and unify Libyan society, analyzing their contribution to achieving reconciliation among different political and social factions. The study employed a descriptive-analytical approach, with an electronic questionnaire distributed to a sample of members of the Libyan Dialogue Committee. Data collection took place from JuIy to September 2024, with 83 valid questionnaires returned for analysis. Statistical tools, including SPSS, were used to analyze the results. The findings revealed that electronic media played a significant role in promoting reconciliation values and enhancing national dialogue by disseminating messages that reject violence and division while encouraging national unity. Participants noted that these platforms were effective in guiding public discussions and providing an open space for expressing opinions. However, some challenges were identified, such as the spread of unreliable or inflammatory content, which highlighted the need for monitoring and regulating published content. The study’s recommendations include strengthening the role of electronic media in promoting reconciliation values, organizing awareness campaigns that advocate tolerance and cooperation, and ensuring content monitoring to guarantee the dissemination of accurate information and positive messages that support national reconciliation and stability in Libya.
