Abstract

The study aimed to determine the reality of practicing transformative leadership behaviors and their impact on employee retention in the municipality of Zliten. Survey research and data creation were used primarily through the use of a questionnaire, and emphasis was placed on the heads and office managers in the municipality, and the study followed the qualitative and quantitative approaches, and the reason for this is to understand the issue and the various variables involved in the subject of the study. Also, the data was analyzed using the SPSS program. The study concluded that there is an impact of transformational leadership on employee retention, and it can be explained by the fact that transformational leadership is mainly directed to relationships within institutions and not just to the efficiency of task performance. In addition, the age group of 40 years and older are the ones with the most transformational leadership behaviors and the most encouraging retention processes. Therefore, the study recommends increasing the number of intermediate variables affecting employee retention.
