Abstract

This study aims to identify the role of fun learning strategies in improving academic achievement in mathematics among primary school pupils. The study adopted a descriptive-analytical (library-based) approach through reviewing and analyzing relevant educational literature and previous studies. The findings indicate that fun learning strategies, such as educational games, puzzles, interactive activities, storytelling, and educational media, can enhance pupils’ motivation and participation, support their understanding of mathematical concepts, and contribute to improving academic achievement when appropriately aligned with lesson objectives and learners’ characteristics. The analysis also revealed several obstacles to their implementation, including insufficient teacher training, limited instructional time, curriculum density, and inadequate educational resources. The study recommends providing mathematics teachers with appropriate training and supporting the educational environment with the resources needed for the effective implementation of fun learning strategies
